Crazy..

January 19th, 2012

While watching the news, somehow I had the feeling that I’ve seen the cruise-boat before.

blog2

I was shooting on this little peace of snow with Knut last spring at Geirangerfjord. We pretty much liked the fact, that there was a big cruise-boat in the back..

Then I saw this on TV..

Arlberg..

January 16th, 2012

I spent the last 4 days at Arlberg in about 4 meters of snow. Actually I’ve never seen so much snow in the last years of shooting. Pretty impressive. Here are some snapshots from the small trip..

Innsbruck..

December 31st, 2011

Yesterday I visited the Straussen-twins in Innsbruck to shoot a bit in the streets. It felt pretty good to be back at the spots after I shot a lot of studio stuff for Nitro. We hit two spots and I came home at 4 am in the morning.. a typical session with the Straussens ;)

Pleasure Photospecial Cover – Making of..

December 20th, 2011

Wow, what can I say – I’m still super super stoked to have the current cover of this years Pleasure Photospecial. This really means a lot to me!

I thought maybe it is interesting as well, how we made the cover happen, so here is a little making of..

01

Xaver Hoffmann – Bs air – Passo Rolle – Italy

02

On this picture (thanks to google street view), you can see the spot from where I shot the cover. Lazy – just next to the car. But what’s more interesting is the filled barrier-lake in the summer. When it gets colder the water freezes and a massive ice-shield is swimming on top of the lake. Due to the fact that this is a barrier-lake used for an electric-power-plant, the water level goes down during the winter and so does the ice-shield. When it touches the ground, it brakes into big ice blocks and a weired looking scenery is made..

03

Getting on the other side of the lake wasn’t too easy as well, because there was still a small river left. A little bit bigger and you would have seen a different shot on the cover..

The scenery..

Thanks again to Pleasure – Überlaser!!!

Roadtrippin’ with Knut

December 14th, 2011

I picked up Knut Eliassen from Munich Airport to go to the Nitro-distributor-meeting in Gröden – Italy on Sunday morning. On the way I just wanted to check out a “wood-art-area” and I didn’t know exactly where it is, but I thought it was close to Gröden – it wasn’t.. The whole drive took 5 hours more, but it was pretty worth it. Just check the awesome art on the pictures.

When we finally got to Gröden, there was basically no snow at all – bummer. But during the night we got about 20cm of snow and so today I had my first powderday of the season. Not super good – but at least we finally got snow..

01

Woven wood-houses in the woods – so sick..

Looks like a weired structure trough the wood, but when you look closer..

Frost & Sölden..

December 4th, 2011

Sorry for being a little bit lazy with the updates on the blog, but the season has not really started yet, because it’s just not snowing over here. The last week was pretty cold but still no snow in sight. But due to some moisture in the air, all the trees where totally frozen and the landscape looked pretty weird. Green grass and white trees..

Anyways, I had to shoot some Outerwear stuff in the snow as well, but even in Sölden it was pretty hard to find a scenery that looks like winter. So here are some snaps from last week..

New office @ Sinzenetti..

November 21st, 2011

A couple of weeks ago, I moved into a new office with some friends to get the überoffice. It’s a pretty nice backyard office with room for 14 people that are pretty much all based in photography, film-making, graphic design & web design. We named the office “Sinzenetti” ’cause the streetname is Zenettistreet and we thought it’s fun. Here are from snapshots when we painted the entrance-room..
