I spent the last three days in Dublin for the Red Bull Illume ceremony. It was so much fun to see all the other photographers and friends again that I’ve not seen for a longer time but also to meet some new faces where I just knew their work but not the person. Somehow I made it into the Top 5 in the “new creativity” category, so stoked on that. The ceremony was really beautiful and it was held in the same room where a scene of Harry Potter was filmed, cool beans. After that, the best 50 pictures where shown outside in the exhibition. I couldn’t believe how many people showed up to see our work. A lot of respect to all the other photographers with their great work, so many good pictures. You should check out their work on the website here: Red Bull Illume

I spent the last couple of days in Austria at my small mountain-cabin. It was the first time I’ve been there after the season and there was a lot of stuff to do. After I failed pretty bad trying to cut the grass last year, I gave it another try and did way better than last year. It’s always great to be there and after a lot of the major work is done, I really look forward to go there once again in autumn. Saturday night was pretty cool as well, I just sat outside, had a beer, read a book and watched the lightning in the distance. When I woke up this morning the weather has changed dramatically. It got super cold and rainy – higher up in the mountains it even snowed a bit. Never felt so close to winter for a long time..
Now I’m back in Munich for one night and than I’ll fly to Dublin – Ireland tomorrow for the Red Bull Illume. So more posts from there..

I’ve been pretty busy in the last couple of days shooting some stuff for Nitro. I also got visited by Tobi Strauss, who needed some portraits for his new eyewear sponsor. So we had some coffee and than made some lifestyle shots just in front of my apartment. I don’t have to mention, that shooting with Tobi is always a lot of fun.
But now it’s time to hit the road again.. Austria, Ireland, Switzerland and Scotland that’s what’s up in the next weeks..

I didn’t use my camera for a longer time now, but in the last couple of days it was time for some portraits. First I was shooting with Marco Smolla and Fips Strauss at an old theater in a small town close to Munich. Everybody was dressed pretty glamorous and it felt good to shoot something different from time to time. Last night I met up with Basti Rittig and we did some set up shots for a Nitro commercial. It was good to see Basti again after the summer and we both could definitely need a haircut..

It’s still pretty warm outside but you can almost feel that the winter is not so far away anymore. It’s always good to be prepared for the season, so it was time to drive to Nitro’s international headquarter in Oberammergau. Andi and me had some talks about the plans for next season and new destinations that could be worth traveling. Also some of the new boardgraphics for the 2012 season have already arrived from the design headquarter in Seattle. Just one thing about that: Eero has for sure one of the nicest boards since a long time – really different from the past years, but you will see that soon.. Here some snapshots from today..

That’s what I call “advantage of location” – Oberammergau..

Just cleaned up a little bit and found a pretty old harddrive where I had no clue what was on it. It was a old backupdrive and I found some funny old stuff and I think it fits pretty good to that previous Lagwagon-concert post.
Most of you probably know me more like this:

Lazy tripod shooting at the Air & Style and more talking to Fischi than working..
Now I found those pretty funny pictures from back in the days when I got my first analog camera and me and my friends were shooting each other. Here are some shots my friends took of me when I tried to hurt myself. Another funny thing is that I still have the same beanie and that won’t probably change too soon..

Now I look forward to the “GAP1328 Summercamp Revival Party” in the near future at the Lodge in Garmisch..

The Red Bull Illume is probably the biggest action-sport-photo-award out there. Over 22.000 pictures from more than 4.000 photographers were sent in. Now the first judging rounds are over and I somehow made it to the last 250 with 4 pictures. Uhh.. If you wanna see just amazing work check out the Red Bull Illume. Especially some surf-pictures are mind-blowing..
